Curtis James Jackson III (date of birth July 6, 1975), also known by the stage name 50 Cent, is known as a US rap artist, businessman, investor, record producer, as well as an acting professional. 50 Cent came to public prominence  when he released the albums Get Rich or Die Tryin' (in 2003) and The Massacre (in 2005). Get Rich or Die Tryin' was certified platinum 8 times by the Recording Industry Association of America. The Massacre has been certified 5 times platinum.

Given birth to in South Jamaica, Queens, Jackson started dealing narcotics aged 12 in the course of the Nineteen eighties crack epidemic.
